Broiled Hot Dogs and Cheese
5 individual oven safe ceramic dishes
2 hot dogs each, check sugar and ingredients-we get all beef
Cheese, any variety
any other carb friendly toppings
Mommy's HD's had canned jalepeno dices about 1 1/2 tsp.
and 3 sliced olives because they were leftover in the fridge
Take each dish put in 2 hot dogs sliced length wise, the younger children may need help.
Top with cheese, shredded is best, and any other toppings that you may like
Put under broiler until melted and bubbly brown
Remove with potholders of course, let cool some minutes.
Put onto serving plate and enjoy
According to Spark Recipe converter, they have about 4.1 carbs without the extra toppings so be careful what you add read labels and enjoy.
To make the meal complete for them we served up fresh peaches, a cut mango, and an orange sliced-along with a tall glass of filtered water to boot.
This recipe got me thinking about what else I could do that was quick.I think that making it in foil and putting it in a fire pit or on the grill might work or I could make it with some sugar free ketchup and oregano and basil, then the cheese and then some Pizza toppings-pepperoni, mushrooms, olives that would be yummy! This was a quick and easy lunch that everyone loved, big thumbs up all around.
